    Poland is a country with parliamentary representative democratic system, whereby the Prime Minister is the head of the government and the President is the head of state. Executive power is executed by the Council of Ministers and the legislative power is vested in the Parliament consisting of two chambers: Sejm (460 members) and Senat (100 members). Polish Constitution defines elections to Sejm as universal, direct, proportional, equal and anonymous, while to Senat as universal, direct and anonymous.  

     

    Last parliamentary election took place on 25th October 2015. Party Law and Justice received the majority of votes and afterwards created the government led by Prime Minister Mrs. Beata Szydło.

     

    Since December 2017 the government is led by Prime Minister Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki.
